The Rocky View Weekly… Your Community Newspaper

Rocky View Weekly is published every Wednesday and Saturday by:
Great West Newspapers Limited Partnership
25 Chisholm Avenue,
Rocky View, Alberta. T8N 5A5 Canada

Founded in 1961, in the centennial year of Alberta’s oldest permanent settlement, The Gazette has chronicled the lives of residents and events for Rocky View and the Sturgeon area for nearly 50 years. From our beginnings as an eight-page 8 1/2" x 11" community newsletter to today’s twice-weekly, full-color tabloid, we have focused on providing our readers award-winning journalism in every issue. Our advertising, creative and news teams have collected more than 200 industry honours in the past 20 years. The Canadian Community Newspapers' Association has named us the best newspaper in the country in 2000, 2001, 2005 and 2008.

The City of Rocky View is one of Alberta’s fastest growing communities. It has the highest education levels and the second-highest household income in the province. Located in the beautiful Sturgeon River valley on Edmonton’s northern boundary, the city is now approaching 60,000 residents. To the north another 22,000 residents live in the towns villages, acreages and farms of Sturgeon County.

The partnership has newspapers in several Alberta communities. The president of Great West Newspapers is Duff Jamison, publisher of the Rocky View Weekly. Paul Rockley, publisher of the Okotoks Western Wheel, is executive vice president.

Great West is committed to producing quality community newspapers and offers advertising clients markets throughout Alberta.
